Armed thief gets beaten up by hero fast-food worker as the crook tries to rob his store in Mexico… then asks for his gun back as he flees

An armed thief was foiled in a robbery after being beaten by a brave pizzeria worker before brazenly asking for his gun as he flees empty-handed.
CCTV footage shows the masked burglar enter the restaurant in Ciudad Obregon in the northwestern Mexican state of Sonora and demanding money from employees.
The robber, who is armed with a gun, goes to grab handfuls of cash from the till before he is stopped in his tracks.
The thief was brutally taken to the ground and repeatedly punched during the raid on the pizza shop
A male worker in the restaurant dives at him and pushes him to the ground in the kitchen before throwing punches.
He then begins pummelling the criminal's face, ripping off his mask as he lets fly a barrage of blows.
The thief curls up to protect himself as the worker begins kicking his head and another worker then steps in.
Both workers attempt to grab the handgun off the thief whose blood can be seen all over the floor.
CCTV shows him walking in and pulling a gun on the woman behind the counter who goes to the back to get money out of a till
After he punched the thief several times, causing large amounts of blood to spill on the floor, the restaurant worker throws him out
The thief asks for his weapon back before walking out of the store as the worker closes the heavy shutters
The worker who beat the thief eventually grabs the pistol and orders the criminal to leave.
And the thief, can be seen bleeding profusely from the face, appears to ask for his gun back, with the worker refusing, before the criminal jogs out of the front door.
The worker points the gun at the thief as he runs away before pulling down the restaurant's shutters and turning to celebrate as the female worker calls the police.
Local media report police officers later seized the gun in the restaurant but it is unclear if the thief was arrested.
