Casimir frequented Donelson Pike, near where he worked, at the Super 8 Hotel on Royal Parkway.

“He's been here a few times. But he was always nice. When he came in, there were sometimes he had an attitude,” Patricia Morgan said, a waitress in the area.

Morgan said over the past few months Casimir stopped in to eat, but she said she never expected to see what played out when she arrived at work yesterday.

“I got here and saw all the police showing up. I didn't know what was going on. And I heard a policeman got shot. And I’m glad he's still alive,” the local worker said.

FOX 17 News reporter Payton Muse called those closest to Casimir. The mother said he lived in Nashville for a while.
