WALNUT HILLS, Ohio (WKRC) - Police provided an update on Monday after an officer-involved shooting in Walnut Hills resulted in the death of a suspect.

Police say that the suspect who was killed on Friday's shooting has been identified as 20-year-old James Clay.

Mayor John Cranley said the suspect, Clay, was a known violent offender who had recently hurt a convenience store manager.

An officer who was serving a warrant at an address on Victory Parkway on Friday was shot in the arm.

The Fraternal Oder of Police said the officer had surgery on Saturday and that it went really well.

The apartment building where the suspect lived is operated by Talbert House, and people who are receiving substance abuse or mental health treatment live there. One resident said police told her to go back in her apartment, and then she heard about eight gunshots.

Three investigations are initiated when a police officer shoots a person. All three were underway Friday night.
