Armed Robbery, Shootout at Miami Walgreens Caught on Camera

Police are looking for two armed robbers who stole cash registers from a Miami Walgreens and got into a shootout with a man in an incident caught on camera.

The robbery and shooting happened back on Halloween night at the store at 23201 Southwest 112th Avenue when the two suspects entered the store wearing hooded sweaters and demanded money from an employee at gunpoint, Miami Police said.

The suspects ripped two registers from the counters and attempted to run out the front door. As they fled, they spotted a witness out front who they mistook for a police officer.

"It's the police, shoot him, shoot him," one of the suspect yelled to the other, as they fired several shots at the man. The witness returned fire with his own firearm, but no one was injured.

The suspects were able to flee out the back doors. The entire incident was captured on the store's surveillance system.

Police described the suspects as black males between 17 and 24 years old, one about 5-foot-10 with a thin build, the other about 5-foot-5 with a medium build. They're considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
