Video released by Greenville police shows an attempted carjacking in downtown Greenville.Police said a woman called 911 just after 1 p.m. April 5 and reported a man tried to carjack her.It happened at the intersection of East North and North Main streets. She described the man as white man, wearing a green shirt and blue jeans. The video, released Thursday, shows a man walking down the middle of North Main Street and stopping at a vehicle stopped at the red light. The video shows the man talking to the person in the car for about 30 seconds before he opens the door and tries to pull the driver out.A man in the car behind the woman’ car and a man walking by pull the man away from the car. The man picks up some items off the ground that had dropped and continues up North Main Street. The man was later identified as Joshua Joseph Perini, 35, and was arrested a short time later, police said. The woman was not injured, police said.
