Officers located Mora near the intersection of West 17th Street and Mildred Avenue and instructed him to the drop the knife, but he refused, according to police.

After 10 minutes of trying unsuccessfully to convince Mora to surrender, police said, officers fired a projectile and taser device at him in an effort to disable him. When those failed, a police K9 grabbed hold of Mora's arm and eventually dragged him to the ground.
