Police: Suspect caught on video in brutal assault at Sandusky CVS

SANDUSKY, Oh. (WNWO) -- A man believed to be the suspect caught on camera violently assaulting a female at an Erie County CVS is now in custody, police say.

The suspect was taken into custody around 4:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Warren Street in Sandusky.

Demarco Bendross, 21, was taken into custody by the Sandusky Police Department and charged with aggravated robbery.

Before 7:30 p.m. Monday, police say Bendross assaulted a woman at the CVS on E. Monroe Street while attempting to steal her purse. The assault was caught on video. Video: The Sandusky Register

The female victim had hair ripped out of her head and was bitten on the arm before being punched by the man. She was treated at the scene and released.

Police say Bendross got away with the victims wallet that contained cash and credit cards.
