LAPD released body cam footage from this shooting last week.
A large group of LAPD trail Ponce for blocks at a slow walk. He's holding a hammer. They shout and shoot less-lethal rounds at him. He keeps walking. Finally they just shoot him dead in the street in broad daylight.

LAPD followed Samuel Ponce at close range for 15 minutes, shooting him multiple times with rubber bullets and tasers as Ponce begged for help.
By the time they shot and killed Ponce, he had already dropped the “weapons” they were worried about, and he was moving away from them.

They shot him on March 19, around 3:40 in the afternoon, on Bonnie Brae in Westlake.
